Let me introduce you to my badass cousin, Karen Schleifer, also known by her stage name, Shotgun Curly. From Broadway to the boardwalk, Karen has always embodied fearless creativity and vibrant talent. She launched her performing career on the iconic Broadway stage in the original production of Annie, setting the tone early for a life filled with music and bold expression.
I've always admired Karen for her incredible bravery and willingness to put herself out there in the spotlight. Her journey took her across the country, leading her to Laguna Beach, California, where she showcased her songwriting talent by releasing her first album, Only The Ocean, in 2003. Since then, she’s released another full album and an EP, crafting more than 50 original songs that speak directly from the heart. Embracing her passion for music and performance, Karen, guitar in hand, continuously mastered and deepened her musical repertoire.
Eventually, Karen found her way back home, bringing her soulful performances to the vibrant scene of St. Marks Place in New York City. Audiences quickly fell in love with her authentic personality, soulful spirit, and musical brilliance.
Today, Karen continues to captivate crowds and expand her musical journey, performing regularly around Asbury Park, New Jersey. If you're nearby, don't miss out on a chance to experience her electrifying performances live. Check out her upcoming gigs and more information below—trust me, you’ll want to see Shotgun Curly in action!
